A World Formula Modified is a down-sized version of the Northeastern DIRT or NASCAR Modified race cars. They are fun and affordable and provide a new form of competitive racing to those who don’t want to spend a fortune. The Modifieds are powered by a Briggs & Stratton World Formula engine which runs on pump gasoline and features an electric start while producing 15 HP. The engine is sealed by an authorized distributor to ensure uniform mechanical consistency throughout the division. There are no spec cars, so you can build it yourself, purchase a used one from a racer, or buy one from a builder.
The World Formula Modified Tour has been devoted to creating a standard set of spec rules and maintaining those rules in an effort to bring the class back to its former popularity. In a short period of time, we have received a tremendous response from competitors that have the same goal. We have put together a structured point fund to compliment the purses that will be awarded to the top finishers at each of the race events. The World Formula Modifieds also expects to draw newcomers to the Microstock class by planning and organizing its tour race events at various tracks located in the New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut & Massachusetts areas.
