Our Microstock race class was organized in 1979 as an alternative to open wheel modified racing, with the main difference focusing on a way to race competitively at a fraction of the cost. The popularity of this division afforded racers the opportunity to experience the same thrill and excitement that the big name race car drivers experience. Pine Brook Speedway in Pine Brook, NJ was the original "home" racing facility for the Microstocks. Our organization enjoyed a boom of growth and an exploding fan base. Some nights we drew over 65 cars! The success of the class received recognition in Stock Car Magazine. Weekly race results were listed in the Area Auto Racing News under the American Micro Stock Racing Association (A.M.S.R.A.) banner. With the closing of Pine Brook Speedway in 1989, the Microstock class has divided, forcing racers to search for alternate tracks. Over the years, each track has adapted the Microstock division to their own rules and class modifications, limiting the amount of cars capable of competing at various tracks.
